Rei Ortiz is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, music producer, and songwriter from Puerto Rico, known for his skillful fusion of global genres such as flamenco, rock, hip-hop, samba, bossa nova, reggae, and a wide range of Latin rhythms. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, he works as a producer, session musician, and mix engineer from his private studio.
Rei began his musical journey at the age of 8, following in his father's footsteps by learning classical guitar. During his teenage years, he immersed himself in songwriting and expanded his skills to include bass, piano, and the Puerto Rican cuatro. He later studied classical guitar, composition, and arrangement at the University of Puerto Rico.
A two-time winner of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, Rei’s songs have been performed by multi-platinum artists across the globe. His work includes collaborations on hundreds of tracks, including music for gold- and platinum-certified artists such as Danny Rivera, Don Omar, Bad Bunny, Gente de Zona, Wisin, and Randy. He has also had the honor of sharing the stage with legends like Draco Rosa, Rubén Blades, Milly Quezada, Francisco Céspedes, Andy Montañez, Chucho Avellanet, and Andrés Jiménez, among many others.
